Modern Orangeries

Orangeries in modern & classical styles are popular extensions; the classic good looks of orangeries often make them more suitable for extensions to a kitchen or a new dining area than a conservatory. If you are looking at orangeries and thinking about adding one to your home, there are a number of important matters to consider.

Classical Orangeries

If you have an older building; one in a classical style; or live in a neigborhood where modern orangeries or conservatories would look out of place, you’ll find that classically styled orangeries are often more acceptable than modern orangeries or a conservatory from any period, as the seventeenth century origins of orangeries help them fit in so much better. You can see an example of the design of the time at the National Botanic Garden of Belgium.

Bespoke Orangeries

Bespoke orangeries, rather than orangeries that are “off-the-shelf” or mass produced in any way, allow you to have a unique orangery usually made by carpenters using traditional woodworking skills before craftsmen finish the work with modern double-glazing, weatherproofing and security.
