Jeep Wrangler Review

Jeep fans gather annually for what is known as "Camp Jeep". This major event includes off-road driving experiences, Jeep related entertainment and other outdoor activities. One of the more interesting highlights is the engineering roundtables, where regular folk get to interact directly with Jeep designers and engineers to plan the next generation of vehicles. As the Jeep Wrangler is one the most popular and endearing of all the vehicles in the stable, you can be sure that great ideas and input come up very often.

The Jeep development team, having taken in all the Jeep Wrangler reviews, must now find a elegant solution to marry the history and tradition along with modern technology and safety requirements.

This lead to major changes in the 2007 Jeep Wrangler model. Such as, a 3.5-in. wider track, 2-in. longer wheelbase (2-door model) and 16-in.(4-door), when compared to the 2-door Unlimited model. The 4 door will also be available in a 4 x 2-wheel-drive and will be the only 4 door jeep/convertible available on the market. Many have questioned the benefits of adding a 4-door and two-wheel-drive model to the Jeep Wrangler, especially when there are other optional vehicles like the Commander and Patriot. The Jeep research however has identified that more than 75% of new Wrangler buyers are new to the Jeep brand and nearly 25% are sold in southern states. Which makes the need for a 4x4 practically useless. Giving the public variant options will only be good for the Jeep brand overall.

The 2007 Wrangler will be produced in Toledo, OH. Suppliers will be asked to take the responsibility for rolling chassis, body manufacturing and painting at the manufacturing plant. Chrysler employees will still be responsible for the final assembly and quality control operations. This is a huge shift in how Jeep used to assembled its products. Whether this works out well in the long run remains to be seen, but the cost and employee strain benefits are apparent.

In closing, a Jeep Wrangler should never be an impulse buy. Due to its unique niche and vehicle type, you need to consider all the pros and cons of owning a Jeep, briefly, these are:
