Timber Conservatory

A timber conservatory is environmentally friendly because a timber conservatory is usually made from timber from renewable resources and not from UPVC or aluminium. What’s more, a timber conservatory has a natural warmth to it that man-made materials cannot replicate. And it’s hard to beat a naturally stained or oiled timber conservatory, especially if the timber you select is oak, which has a beautiful grain and a gorgeous color. Oak is also immensely strong and this enables the construction of wide span conservatories without internal pillars and supports and will therefore make a conservatory even more open and airy.

Oak Conservatory

If you build a timber conservatory in Oak, you can leave the exterior to weather naturally and age beautifully. Sometimes it will be necessary to paint the exterior to match the window frames and doors of the house it is attached too for aesthetic reasons, or because it is a requirement to obtain planning permission. If both the interior and exterior of the conservatory is to be painted, a timber conservatory in a wood other than oak would be a better alternative. It will be cheaper and you won’t be hiding that wonderful look and grain. You can find inspiration for a timber conservatory at Garfield Park in Chicago
