Blogs Are the Future
It is tough to imagine that up until a couple of years ago, the concept of blogs did not even exist. Isn't it amazing how blogs have caught everyone's fancy? Indeed blogs have become so widespread that one can no longer push aside them. Take for example all these friends I have who run their own blogs: Gardner, Alvarez, Nicole. Then there is Helen Constantine, Mickey Temp, Sharon Steele. And how can I forget my other friends Dave Abigail, Kathy Bright, Charlene Coop, and of course Casper DoGood.
And then there are those who are running several services on their blogs --
for the benefit of the rest of the world. For
instance: Website review,
Major Major blog. Clearly
the day of the blogs is here. And this is your day if you think about it. Think
hard.
You must have heard of TIME magazine, right? The reason that
TIME magazine chose YOU as the person of the
year was because of the power of citizen journalism -- primarily driven by
blogs. So, what are you thinking about? Go over to one of the free services like
blogger or some other, or get your own
word press blog. And of course there are
these dozens if not hundreds of other sites that you can have free blogs on.
Further, you can host your own blogs.
What is very impressive about the blogosphere is the way you can actually
generate an avalanche of a response to your thoughts. Just be true to yourself
and post something that you truly believe in. And quite literally, you are "the
man" or "the woman" for that purpose.
Of course, if you are a non-tech person, you will face some initial hesitation
in getting this entire process going. Not a problem, blogging technology is
notoriously easy to use. In many senses it is an entry level CMS. Oh, and you do
not need to know that CMS stands for Content Management System, to run your own
blog. That was just my way of showing off some Internet jargon.
If you do not have your own blog, then now is a good time to do so. Look at some of my other friends who run their own blogs: Madlaine Made, Maria Robins, and Mike Horner. In addition to that list, there is Tyran Mike, Noel Page, and Terresa Hopkins. Why not throw in blogs by some more people I know: Zoe Martini, Ajeet Khurana, and Joy.
So, that is it for today. Until we meet again, keep visiting the blogs linked to from this page. And have a great time in the bold new world of blogs.
